Why Shoot on High Definition Video?
High Definition (HD) video is the future for video production, television broadcasting and viewing. In 2002 alone, 31 major network television shows such as "The West Wing", "Law and Order" and A&E's "Investigative Reports" were all shot on HD. Many major motion pictures such as "Star Wars: Attack of the Clones" and "Spy Kids II" were also shot on HD video. Significantly more movies are originating in HD and theaters across the country will soon be able to project HD, eventually replacing film as a distribution media.

The number one reason why programs, shows, movies and others are increasingly originating on HD is due to its superior image quality. Even though most TV shows and private companies are not currently broadcasting their work in HD, their image quality is noticeably sharper because they first captured their images with the incredible clarity of HD. Whether you shoot in 1080i or 24p frame rate, HD provides six times the resolution than Standard Definition (SD) does for its image, so you get a more life-like final product with HD. With mandated (FCC) digital broadcasting just around the corner, HD is the only way to fully realize what digital television is capable of displaying.

What does all of this mean for you, the customer? Superior image quality is now available to you through ProMedia Production's Sony HDW-F900 CineAlta camera. Whether you're videotaping your company's annual meeting, shooting a TV commercial or making an independent movie, ProMedia's HD capabilities have you covered.
